PMI is the analysis of a metal alloy to determine its composition by reading the percentage values of its constituent elements. Temperature is often the first and easiest indication of a developing problem and can be quickly used as a screening technique for situations that require further analysis. A non-contact infrared thermometer allows you to maintain a safe distance from the object and take the most accurate measurements over a wide range of temperatures, hence the term “non-contact”.
PMI inspection services are provided by trained and experienced professionals from PWHT Solutions NDT who can guarantee the quality of the service. Material scanning and testing can be performed on-site and before the parts enter the manufacturing process. PMI can be used for a variety of part sizes – from large complex parts to weld filler materials on small parts.
Benefits: • Isolate final welds to verify filler material composition and dilution rates
• Highly specific and accurate results essential for good quality control
• Recover lost material traceability
• Rapid verification of alloys in seconds
• Assurance of verification of specific metal parts
• Reduce company liability risk with documented safety standards
• Faster inspection times and our long-term experience
• Rapid results for product verification and separation of products that may have been accidentally mixed together
• Verify the integrity of process piping, valves and reaction vessels, pipes, hollow tubes, forged bars, valves, flanges, weld seams, tanks, vessels, structural supports, bolts, studs and other fasteners
