Magnetic particle testing (MPI) is a non-destructive testing (NDT) method for identifying surface and subsurface discontinuities in ferromagnetic materials such as iron, nickel, cobalt and some of their alloys. We provide on-site magnetic particle inspection services using yoke and coil type magnetic equipment; We offer dry powder, wet magnetic particles and wet fluorescence magnetic particle technique. Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) is an economical and faster non-destructive testing method widely used in the aerospace, locomotive, automotive, power generation, nuclear and petrochemical industries.Common examples include: testing crankshafts, camshafts, connecting rods, engine gears, landing gears, bearing caps, engine blocks, engine shafts, bolts, nuts, washers, threaded rods, cylinders, piping connections (fabricated joints, welds) in the power generation and petrochemical industries, etc.

Applications:

• Most weld discontinuities are open to or near the surface.

• The most suitable method for detecting cracks, edges, seams, cavities, pits, subsurface holes and other discontinuities in ferromagnetic materials that are close to the surface or slightly below the surface.

Advantages:

• Relatively economical and fast

• The test equipment is considered portable

• Unlike liquid penetration, magnetic particles can detect some near-surface discontinuities

• Able to inspect through thin coatings
