Fracture detection using time-of-flight diffraction (TOFD) technique.

Fracture detection using time-of-flight diffraction (TOFD) technique.

Welding defects can compromise the stability and integrity of welded structures. When you need confidence in testing welds, time-of-flight diffraction (TOFD), a high-performance non-destructive testing method, allows you to accurately detect and measure cracks, slag and non-welding in the true wall direction, which helps you assess tank life. We will be with you at all stages of your testing project and provide you with individual solutions. In TOFD, longitudinal waves are generated between two ultrasonic sensors to detect, locate and measure defects based on the time of flight of each refracted beam

Advantages of fracture detection using time-of-flight diffraction (TOFD) technique:

High probability of detection (POD)
Suitable for various types of materials, including pipes

HDPE • Ability to inspect at temperatures above 400 degrees Celsius

Can be used for material thicknesses from 13 to 450 mm
No harmful ionizing radiation
No need to stop production
Detailed information about the length and depth of the marks
Display inspection data visually
Direct interpretation of results
Inspection data is available digitally
